Digital Resilience Hub Framework Released

HVERI is proud to announce the release of our Digital Resilience Hub Framework, produced with support from Hawaiʻi County and the Hawaiʻi Community Foundation through the Puna Strong Grant Program. Complementing Vibrant Hawaiʻi’s network of in-person Resilience Hubs on Hawaiʻi Island, the framework outlines the requirements, guidelines, standards, training and operations for Digital Resilience Hubs (DRHs).

During disaster response, a DRH would serve as an online repository of up-to-date, curated information in support of the physical hubs. Secondly, physical hubs must also form part of the digital network, and so DRHs aim to provide technical support around their digital operations.

A Social Media Moderator Pilot Training Program has also been developed in conjunction, as part of the same grant. Online moderation and content screening is required for Hawaiʻi Tracker or any DRH to maintain trust with the community. Volunteers must be properly trained, thus the need to create a standardized curriculum and scale up operational capacity in advance.

Recruitment for the inaugural round of DRH certifications is upcoming, stay tuned!
