Hawaiian Volcano Education & Resilience Institute

Home of the Hawaiʻi Tracker Project

HVERI works with the Island of Hawaiʻi community, visitors, and other stakeholders to improve disaster preparedness, response and recovery through education, monitoring, and resilience network building.

HVERI - pronounced “H”-very

Arising from the Hawaiʻi Tracker Project and the community response to the 2018 Kīlauea eruption, HVERI partners with the County of Hawaiʻi and other local nonprofits to educate and inform residents about volcano science and hazards. We also maintain a digital community invested in disaster response.

Concerned about Kīlauea or Maunaloa, still recovering from 2018, or new to the island? We’re here to help. We produce weekly written articles, short videos and interactive live broadcasts, and attend numerous community in-person events as part of our outreach.

HVERI was incorporated in September 2022 and is an IRS-designated 501c3 organization.
